Saving Ruby King
by Catherine Adel West
I like the plot and the characters, but I don’t like the fact that there’s so much religion / church involved. That being sad, I do believe this book touches an important subject. Ruby is facing domestic violence in her home - her father is always hurting his mother. And one day her mother dies. Even though the police dismisses it as a robbery, everyone thinks that Ruby’s father is the murderer. The story goes down to the roots of the family to understand how they ended up being who they are.
