While it has Victorian in the title, it is set more in an Edwardian or even Regency setting based on descriptions. Vapid, gory and not as clever as it thinks it it. I suspect perhaps written by AI. Wants to be Chuck Palahuiniak but isn’t as well turned or as clever. Comes off like a Tim Burton by way of Hot Topic gore fest, with no deeper themes or meaning. Plot twist was not a surprise. I wish I could get my time and money back.
