2.5/5. this felt like mandatory summer reading. if it weren’t for my book club, i wouldn’t have kept reading this, which is unfortunate, because the ending (as rushed as it was) actually made it worth reading. i wish he’d been a vampire or they’d fleshed out his “curse” more. i was intrigued 1/3 of the way through, then i hated it, then the last couple chapters saved it all.
