The Day of the Duchess by Sarah MacLean
3.0

Hmm. This requires some point form thoughts!

Pros:
- I loved the sisters! I really enjoyed the family solidarity
- I really liked Sera, she was a great character with lots of backbone
- I found the Dukes final Grand Gesture was quite good. There was some good payoff there!
- I liked all the players in the Duke's new-wife-hunt. The girls were delightful and full characters on their own, even though they had little screen time.

Cons:
- I really don't like the way some chapters flash back to tell the story. Not a way I enjoy reading, and I just found I skipped over them
- I hated her mother-in-law, and I don't feel resolved about that. Also, I'm pretty tired of evil mother-in-laws as a general trope
- I just feel generally unsatisfied about the book? I'm not even sure why. This particular plot line (estranged couple getting back together) is not one I really enjoy as a whole, so perhaps that's why.
