A Pair of Silk Stockings by Kate Chopin
4.0

Amusing collection of short stories, and a nice introduction to a writer wholly unknown to me before — as the Penguin Little Black Classics are apt to provide.

Nevertheless, I could not really get into three out of five stories, while the other two were either grasping or strongly recognisable. There’s mixed feelings here, but these are predominately positive in quality.

Undoubtedly, however, there’s plenty of historical insight into the time it was written to be found, but my mode of reading has not allowed for that.
