This was an okay read for me. First of all, I didn’t realize that A Worthy Love was part of this series. I’ve heard really great things about that book and was looking forward to reading it. Apparently, it’s the last book in the series so hopefully there’s growth in the authors’ writing. I didn’t enjoy this book. The story did a lot of jumping from scene to scene and it didn’t flow for me. I didn’t like the constant questioning of their so called friendship, like y’all know y’all are more than friends 🙄.

I don’t know if this is A. E. Valdez’ debut novel but I was def looking forward reading one of her books since I’ve seen it around quite a bit. This just didn’t do it for me. I did like Acyn more than Harlowe for sure. She’s always pretending like she’s oblivious like girl, stop it. Acyn did too but since we got Harlowe’s perspective more, I read it more and it was annoying. Hopefully the next book is better. I already don’t care for Kyrell but if there’s depth to his character and story and better writing, I will stick around and read the series.
