Maisie Dobbs by Jacqueline Winspear

It wasn't until the end of the novel that the prose really started to come together for me. I felt I was reading a set up to create a character for future novels. That being said, I am now totally engaged with Maisie and am looking forward to the next one. Lots in common here with the times of Downton Abbey. She does a great job capturing that era.
