Today Tonight Tomorrow
by Rachel Lynn Solomon
Unlike Rachel's first two books (beautiful, bittersweet heartbreakers), this one was a classic romantic comedy for the ages. Yet I still found myself crying several times throughout—sometimes because it was so kind and hopeful and different from the world we’re currently living in, and sometimes because of the masterful way she homed in on the personal, emotional stakes for Rowan and Neil. This is only enhanced by the personal details that really make this book Rachel’s own: her characters’ Jewish identities, important but not central to the plot; the Seattle setting, with a scavenger hunt essentially functioning as a love letter to the city; and Rowan’s love for (and defense of) romance novels as legitimate art. This book is an absolute delight and an immediate rom-com favorite. It also made me really want a cinnamon roll.
