John Adams by David McCullough

A great companion piece to Jon Meacham’s “Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power”, as this one will now reside next to my own copy of Meacham’s as I’m sure Adams and Jefferson would’ve wanted to not be too far away from each other. Perfectly understandable now why this book received a Pulitzer Prize along with an HBO series adaptation. Incredibly moving and insightful to the thinking of a Founding Father and President, but also a diplomat and a farmer, along with how important his relationship was with his wife and family and how he “thought” during the Revolution and subsequently after for posterity, in this case for me. Can’t recommend it enough!
