This volume was an emotional read. It delved deeper into some heavy topics, for both characters. I really loved Nick's talk with his mom about how love can't cure someone of their mental illness. We shouldn't go into relationships thinking we can fix people, but accept them as they are and support them through their difficulties. Even I needed reminding of this as an adult for my own relationship. It's a valuable lesson to learn as a teen. The reason why I didn't give this five stars is because I wanted a bit more from Charlie's perspective, given he's the character going through these serious life changes. Charlie's sister Tori is a savage and I love her as well, she had some good big sister moments in this volume. I look forward to reading the novel where she's the main character in the future.
