The Half of It by Madison Beer
4.0
I really enjoy memoirs, even if they are about someone I know nothing about. I have heard the name Madison Beer and knew she had something to do with music but that was about it. However, I saw the audiobook available on Libby and it was pretty short so I checked it out! I appreciate the vulnerability Beer shows as she opens up about her experiences with social media bullying and experiencing something that we have seen happen time and time again to women, especially teenage girls. When she describes her experiences and how she felt in those moments, it brought me back to being a teenage girl and how everything felt, even though my experiences certainly weren't to the level of Beer's. Overall I enjoyed this book. I think if it had been longer it would have been too much, but this length worked well for me. I do remember there being some things I didn't quite like but honestly, I can't even remember as that was two months ago and it wasn't anything major. Plus, it's a memoir! It's her experience and I respect that.
If you are a fan of Madison Beer or if you are just somebody who loves memoirs, I would recommend this for a quick read. It's not a book I think about often but I enjoyed the reading experience and I left feeling like I learned a little bit more about another human being.
