Despite including a lot of my least favourite Heyer tropes (age/experience gap, stupid and RUDE brother threatening to ruin everything etcetc) this was not actively bad. I couldn't really see how arabella and Mr Beaumaris wouldn't end up estranged - girl is STUPID and he treats her with the same indulgence as his dog. Stupid Bertram is my enemy and I don't think Heyer does a good job making him likeable! Beaumaris' deus ex machina fixing of everything at the end didn't feel at all earned, and I reiterate, I cannot see how Arabella and Beaumaris wouldn't kill each other.
