 i understand what message each story is trying to convey, but the journey to get there is more difficult for me to grasp. i feel like i am on the cusp of understanding, but it's still JUST out of reach. the stories are just abstract enough to be beyond my full understanding. despite my murky understanding of most stories, i appreciate that the message is more below the surface, as i tend to find the overt messaging of some books on the same topic too in your face, which i find is sometimes cringy and a bit too superficial. 

some stories were better than others, but the two that really fell flat for me were Mothers, and Especially Heinous. the first one was confusing and the second one was tedious and went on for far too long.
