After giving it enough time to marinate in my head, I have decided that this book is really good if and only if you are interested in Western art in general and wish to have somewhat of a foundation to dive deeper. It covers really well the Greek and the Roman parts of history, but to call it "world history" would be a far fetch, since Asia and Africa only got a few pages for mere representation. The Medieval part has a few unanswered questions, and I feel like the modern movements can also be covered with more depth. For its time, I think it was enough, but (world) art history maybe doesn't get the most benefit from this approach of dividing the timeline into linear periods.
