The only thing more annoying than everybody going on about how good LOTR is for years of your life, is finally reading the books and finding out that they were RIGHT and they ARE THAT GOOD.
I do t think anything can be quite as heartbreaking, or quite as honest, as Frodo saying ‘The Shire has been saved. But not for me.’ The only thing that comes close is Sam’s inability to describe his journey saying goodbye to Frodo with anything other than ‘Well, I’m back.’
