A buzzy, quick thriller, not really anything substantial. The author tried to discuss some heavy topics like feminism and abuse, but didn't really follow through. I wanted more from the characters, especially our protagonist. Also, the story kept alluding to these "dark backgrounds" for Alex and Wren, but we never really got to hear about them. It was kind if disappointing, as I was expecting their upbringings to play more of a role in the explanations of their characters. Overall, this was very clearly a debut novel, and many aspects of the story needed more flushing out and discussion.
