I wasn’t “looking” to read this, but wanted to read something that wasn’t made into a movie, or at least a movie I am aware of. Given the current political turmoil, I really, really needed the distraction. I needed my brain to create the scenery and the characters look, voice, and mannerisms instead of letting the movie version paint the pictures for me. Stephen King short stories do not disappoint! There truly is nothing like reading to help escape reality. But which is more frightening: King’s stories or our current reality?
