From the moment I picked this book up, I loved everything about it. I loved the unique world-building. The magic system was so good, the red and silver blood and the politics around this entire system. It was just so good. This book also gave such a dystopian feel, it had a world that relied on untraditional technology and even some character's powers contributed heavily to this. I definitely see the similarities between Red Queen and Powerless but in my opinion, this is a much better book. The character's feel more developed, the brothers aspect didn't feel so cringe and there was so much more plot! Mare is a brilliant character and I loved the tension between her a Cal. I love a good rebellion in a book and the Scarlet Guard really did it justice. I loved that this book felt so raw, almost brutal in a sense, and gosh THE PLOT TWISTS!
