(StoryGraph Challenge: Out of my comfort zone): The way the men in Yeong-hye’s life became increasingly violent and eager to project their fantasies on to her as she became less expressive made me think a lot about consumption and how patriarchal society is insatiable. Her visions of a beast stalking and ravishing flesh and her refusal to eat meat were visceral and poignant.
