The Hanging Tree by Ben Aaronovitch

5.0

Really liked this one. The action starts off with the death of a teenager from an accidental drug overdose .... and Tyburn wants Peter involved since her daughter was present. Nothing goes according to plan, but in the ensuing investigation the Faceless Man starts making appearances, a little chaotically off-beat. More Americans show up, each group a little more incompetent and too reliant on guns than the last, and Agent Kimberly Reynolds re-appears to liaise with Peter. It's smart and funny and full of nerd-references, fast-paced and satisfying.
