I genuinely feel that the idea for this book was a fantastic idea, but it was not executed right. I had high expectations and was very excited to read this book but I noticed the many character plots. The book is supposed to be dark but I think there is truly on two instances that I could say it got "dark". The smut is 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 if you liked Neon God's you'd probably enjoy this. BUT I felt like there was almost too much smut focused plot versus an actual story. And the whole Darlings always go mad, Winnie had one very small encounter with pain with Tilly and that was the end essentially. I guess as a fairy tale it's to be expected that there is always a goodIoutcome. I do know that there is a second book but I don't know if I'll read it. I was very disappointed with the execution of the first book.
