One of Us Is Next by Karen M. McManus

2.0

Actually 1.5 tbh... *spoiler free*

I truly hate giving books low reviews, I really do. At the end of the day, it's someone's art that they have took time out of their own life to produce for us. Unfortunately, like art, we all have our own perceptions and opinions and unfortunately, this can't be helped.

When reading One of Us Is Lying, I felt it was quite fresh at the time for me and I thoroughly enjoyed this idea of the breakfast club gone wrong. Two Can Keep a Secret was also readable but I didn't enjoy it as much as OOUIL. I was super excited finding out about this sequel and bought it on day of release. Now, whether or not it's just my current feelings/emotions at this current moment in time or whether I've simply read to many of this genre that nothing really surprises me anymore, regardless I just felt bored, detached from any characters and unmoved. I felt no tense build up, I wasn't scared or surprised and finally, endings is a true decision of how I'm going to feel about a certain book. I prefer an amazing ending than an intruiging start. I don't mind pushing through but if I've taken the time to be disappointed by the ending then it's definitely a no go. And dissapointed I was. It didn't shock me and in fact, I cringed?? Or did I eye roll?? I can't even think properly because the book didn't effect me at all.

I'm so sad to say this and feel awful but I honestly can't really think about what I enjoyed about this book or even the writing style but due to who I am, I will still read more books by this author as like I said, the first was enjoyable
