The writing in this book is immature. It suffers from the same problem Trial of the Sun Queen had which is the author insists on telling you instead of showing you. There’s also insta-love. 

This is the second book I’ve read by this author. I tried this book to give her a second chance, but her writing comes off as middle-grade instead of adult.
