This was sad just to get people upset as it did nothing for the story. Making people cry doesn’t equate to good writing

Beckett went from “I have no feelings” to “someone looked at me and I fell in love”. The kids felt too grown up even at six years old (yes, even kids that are going through cancer treatment can be kids and do not sound like a spiritual guide). As a Yarros story it as too much focus on the sex which I really don’t care about, specially on a story that focuses so heavily on grief/trauma. We knew the miscommunication drama was coming… and I didn’t mind it because it was real and handled nicely! But the ending? What did that achieve? The whole “it was fate” that her kid would’ve died either way was shit. You didn’t have to do that, and it was predictable and annoying, yes it made me sad but just because I had feelings I can still dislike it. Plus the whole “he looks like Chris Pratt” annoyed me so much? I don’t like the man!!!!
