What Hunts Inside the Shadows by Harper L. Woods
4.0
Okay, like wow.
First off, that cliffhanger. I need book three like now. I have to say I think I love Caelum even more now than I did in book one!
I am only giving 4 stars because there were some things in the book that made me cringe. There are some words and sayings I am not a fan of and they were used a lot in this book, that I won't say as to not spoil anything. Overlooking these things, though I really did enjoy this book and am very excited to read the next book in the series.
With this book, I can see what people mean when they say it is very similar to ACOTAR. I did get that vibe during some of this book. Not a bad thing by the way. I enjoyed ACOTAR so for me it's okay that it gave me those vibes.
If you liked book one, then I recommend reading this book. We learn so much more in it about Faerie and we get to see lots more of Caelum and Estrella together. Also, there is definitely a lot more smut in this book than the first (which isn't necessarily a bad thing), so if you like lots of smut definitely read this.
Also, I do recommend reading the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, as they're very important.
Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
