This is one of the first coming-of-age stories I really enjoyed. The book is well written, with small foreshadowing to keep you interested and wanting to know more. The characters are likeable with interesting backgrounds, and how everything tied together at the end was really enjoyable and satisfying. Sometimes I found it hard when the main character was reflecting on more of his recent memories; I had a hard time connecting why they were related to what he then talked about in his childhood next. The beginning was a little slow but it picked up about a quarter of the way through and kept my interest throughout. A great, quick read.
