The 8 year time jump was jarring, and the sudden change to Berenice’s POV rather than Sancia didn’t sit right with me. I really wanted to like this, but it felt like the characters were changed somehow, and I didn’t feel the same connection.
From reading spoilers, the ending seems disappointing & as much as I wanted this to be my first fantasy trilogy, I just couldn’t get through this book. Kinda bummed about it tbh.
