Rating mostly for concept and originality, as well as a few knock-down, drag-out phrasings that were perfect and moving. HOWEVER:
- Parts of the plot felt weirdly draggy. Not sure if it was the pacing or the framing, but it left me feeling "meh."
- The romance fell flat for me. It felt kind of forced and weird and I didn't feel the chemistry.
- I wanted a little bit more of "something to say."I think the mountain kind of being the antagonist while the pipeline just explodes in the background makes me feel like the author pulled a punch.
