The Sapphire Rose by David Eddings

3.0

Another childhood favorite which hasn't necessarily held up as well as it should have: all the things a ten-year-old overlooks (weird gender politics, obnoxious child-goddesses, and some really descriptive discussions of entrails and gory death) were a little more obvious this go-around. Oddly, the other two books in the trilogy didn't seem to be available as ebooks, so I just went ahead and read this one first.
