I'm happy to report that Hideaway had me far more enthralled than Corrupt. Kai is officially my favorite horseman (we’re not taking questions at this time), and pairing him with Banks—a whip-smart, no-nonsense badass who isn’t afraid to tell the horsemen where they fall short—was chef’s-kiss perfection.

PD nearly had me fooled with the whole Banks & Damon misdirect, but the truth was far more complicated and heartbreaking. Learning more about the abuse Damon endured from his own mother was brutal to read, and while her exact mental illness still feels hazy, its ripple effect through the story hit hard.

Dark, twisty, and redemptive in shocking places—Hideaway cemented our investment in Devil’s Night. Bring on the next masked disaster.
