Cavelli's Lost Heir by Lynn Raye Harris

4.0

Crown Prince Nico Cavelli of the Kingdom of Montebianco has recently been engaged to Princess Antonella Romanelli of the neighbouring Kingdom of Monteverde. The death of his older brother led to him being the crown prince, even though he was an illegitimate child. But when he receives information from the police about a prisoner, he feels history repeating itself.

Liliana (Lily) Morgan was supposed to be in Montebianco only for two days, far away from her baby boy back in America. The newspaper she works for had sent her to finish a piece since the travel writer had fallen ill. Back in Port Pierre, she had to leave college midway when she found herself pregnant.

Both from broken families, they wanted what was best for their one-year-old son Danny. But in Harlequin Presents, how can that happen easily!?! Having taken care of herself since she was fifteen, Lily can care for Danny too, while not even the likeness in their features could convince Nico that Danny was indeed his son.

Even for a 'since we share a baby, we have to marry', this one had quite the ceremony. Much too hurried. And the baby didn't make an appearance till a third of the book had gone by. But we do get Princess Antonella, the one with the story in the second book.

This one had a heroine who lusted after the leather-clad hero. But what most impressed me, in fact, continues to impress me in all and any romances I read, is how the hero perceives the needs of the heroine, both when things start getting better in their lives, and ... ahem ... in their sexual lives. Sigh!

Wow! What an epic grand finale and twist (a suspenseful one) this story had. I can't help but be equally horrified and gleeful for having read such a story. And now I can't wait to read the second book! This was only my second read by [a:Lynn Raye Harris|2973925|Lynn Raye Harris|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1553959861p2/2973925.jpg] and I enjoy her writing.
