To avoid spoilers I will keep this very short.
Jay happens to be the only openly gay boy in his high school in a small rural town. He is yet to experience love and romance and he real real real wants to. So when his parents tell him that they are moving to Seattle right in the centre of Gay capital he cannot be more excited. He makes a list of things he really wants to do. High on the list is having his very first gay encounter (meet another gay person) and get a boyfriend.
Just when he seems to be about to get all the things on his list ticked off, things start to go array! I really enjoyed this story, I just wished we didn't have to read the list every other page.
