I definitely felt like I had to power through this one. Some of the more sci-fi aspects felt a little forced for the sake of the plot lines. I did really enjoy reading a story that was heavy on the queer aspects and the Afrofuturism. I think this would’ve worked a lot better as a full length novel with less characters because the world building was really interesting and creative.
