The western/cowboy vibe was unique compared to other novels I've read, but that was about my only big plus, along with the ADHD representation. I initially quite liked the male narrator for Luke (Aaron Shedlock), but his voice for Emmy's dialogue was *not* it...though, thinking about how I had the same problem with the male narrator from Eleanor & Park, so maybe I just don't like any male narrators doing female voices?? I'll need to investigate further.
Also, many of the plot points seemed to just resolve without much fanfare, whether it be Luke's missing stepdad or the concern over Emmy's family's reaction to them.
And lastly, the smut just didn't work for me, personally. Every time Luke said "Sugar," it completely took me out of the scene, but I guess that's just my personal vendetta against post pet names.
