Penniless and Secretly Pregnant by Jennie Lucas

5.0

This was an impulse read. When I wanted something romantic and dramatic and happy, with pennilessness and pregnancy, of course. And bumped across this.

Penniless and Secretly Pregnant starts bang in the middle of the action, as much action as you get in a romance, and I loved it for that.

Leonidas Niarxos knew that Daisy Cassidy was falling for him, after four weeks of hot sex. But what she didn't know was he wasn't who he said he was. But soon, she was going to have to care for a baby and a puppy. A puppy! This story couldn't have been greater, especially with a man who did take wrong decisions with his power but wasn't gloating about it. Or was he?

The story fairly quickly jumps to five months later, when Daisy is six months pregnant and alone. But not for long. Because Leo knows and he sets out to woo her and how! He's just an emotionally deprived man who wants the woman who truly loved him back.

But Leonidas was legit scared of Daisy's reaction. About who he really was. And the connection that he shared with her now-deceased father, which started with a missing Picasso. This is the first time that a story turned out this way in Mills and Boon and I was absolutely thrilled.

This story warmed my heart in so many ways. Even after Leo's past, which was so haunting and painful. There's everything you want in a happy ever after, but the way it all unfolds is poignant especially Leo's truth.
Did everyone in the world feel broken? Feel like they were desperate for love they feared they'd never find?

This was such a heartfelt story. And what a beautiful ending it had. Oh my...Acceptance, realising that no one is perfect, so many elements are at play here. And finally, there is this dog named Sunny. This book is lovely!

This is my thirteenth read of [a:Jennie Lucas|771847|Jennie Lucas|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1269297790p2/771847.jpg]' and I couldn't have asked for anything more heartfelt.
