__ceecee__ 's review for:
Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World
by Haruki Murakami
WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT.
after telling me the importance of having your own mind, murakami just up and ends the book with the protagonist's loss of consciousness anyway. i should have known. murakami never ends his books neatly anyway. which would be fine for some people. and yes i did like the weirdness and everything in between, but personally i hate ending a book dissatisfactorily.
my reaction might have bee influenced by the fact that it took me about 2 months to finish reading this book. if i had really immersed myself in this weirdness, who knows?
the ideas in this book are priceless, though. see added quotes.
