Sin Is the New Love by Abir Mukherjee

5.0

The book follows the journey of Ahi, an aspiring publisher who lands in a mysterious situation when her favourite author's autobiography lands on her table. To be honest I wasn't expecting this book to be a very good read but I guess I underestimated it. The plot was so intriguing that I had to finish it within a day.

Ahi, a bibliophile was the co founder of Ankur Publications. She loved reading books specially of author Devang Awasthi, who committed suicide years back. She was all happy and following her daily routine when one day Devang Awasthi's autobiography landed on her desk. She was on cloud 9  as the autobiography would help her little venture to get famous within a short span of time. But the problem in publishing it was that she had to get it signed by one of his family members to avoid any legal repercussion.

In order to complete the formalities to publish the manuscript, she landed in Delhi. As soon as she started reading the manuscript, she was so engrossed that she wanted to know the dark secrets of Awasthi. She was able to fulfill the publishing formalities but a greater shock awaited her. Somehow she was connected to Awasthi's story. Someone was stalking her and was hinting her towards something mysterious by sending her anonymous messages. Was it a trap for Ahi? Or there was something else to the story? Why only she recieved such popular author's autobiography?

" Time is not Hours, minutes or seconds as well; they are just units to measure the time. Time is the continuous psychological and physical change within us, inevitable and unstoppable. "

This book is a great read as only a few Indian authors are able to write such amazing thriller stories. I absolutely adore this one. The plot is amazing and the turns and twists will definitely keep you hooked to the book. I loved each and every character, specially Ahi specifically because she was a bibliophile like me :P.

The story is well paced with crisp narrative. The language used is easy and understandable. You won't feel bored while reading the book. It's definitely one of my favourite reads of 2018.

Definitely Recommended.
