PROMPT - Author debut in the second half of 2024
This book was published in August 2024, so it suits this prompt.
This was a good debut book it's funny and suspenseful and explores the myths of being a perfect mother, the bonds of a female friendship, no matter how odd and the impact secrets have.
The 2 protagonists couldn't be more different when their friendship is formed.
Ainsley is the perfect woman, rich, fashionable, organised, and married to Ben, an aspiring politician with 2 perfect children.
Then there is Nikki a stay at home mother of 4, disorganised, messy, and surviving on chicken nuggets and little sleep.
They become friends when a person from Ainsley past threatens her life and children at the school he now coaches at.
Together, they hatch a plan to bring him down. I loved getting to know the completely 2 different characters and watching them both blossom and grow in confidence. This book explores women's choices as well as exploration and how little it would take for your life to come crashing down around you.
This pageturner of a story brings together a mix of humour, suspense, and heartfelt moments that will resonate with readers from various walks of life. This story felt real, and I enjoyed that.
