I heard a wide range of opinions about this book before reading it - overall, it was an average read. Though the title suggests it's about sleep, I found it to be more of a practical overview of what to expect with a newborn baby, with some sleep info thrown in.

Overall, I think it should be taken for what it is - one person's opinion/method. That said, there are some pretty grand claims with no citations or footnotes, so watch out for those. It's also quite old school - still using only he pronouns for the baby, referencing only heterosexual married couples as parents, etc. For these reasons, I don't think I would read any of the author's books about parenting in later years, etc.
