To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
4.0

Somehow I made it through 7 years of college (I hold two master's degrees) without ever reading this. In many ways I am glad that I read this now; as an adult in the midst of conversations about racism (sexisms and all the other "isms"). This story not only examines the deadly impact of racism but also gender roles. All from the innocent perspective of a child. I greatly enjoyed this and encourage others that have somehow missed reading this (or if you haven't read it since high school or college) to pick it up and read it again.

I now need to watch the movie (for the first time).
