Based on the description I was prepared to really enjoy this book. However, I genuinely don’t understand the glowing reviews. It wasn’t funny. At all. I hated almost all the characters - ESPECIALLY the children. Those children were so. Annoying. I do not see the comparison to Douglas Adams and there was nothing uproarious about it. I might have slightly chuckled once. I have it one extra star for the cats. That is all.
