The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

This was a good story. It was gripping, heartbreaking, frustrating, provoking, heartwarming, sad and awful. All of that and more. It was honest. It is honest, considering it's Walls' life in book form. Her parents were awful parents that neglected them when coming to bringing food on the table and keeping them warm in the winter, and her parents were also great parents whom instead of brushing her off when she thought there was a monster under her bed - took her out and went hunting for that motherfuckin monster demon. And crazy. Her parents were bat shit crazy. And her siblings were survivors. And I just really liked the story. I really really did. It's not the type of story that fits into a certain category as good or bad or awful. Much like the family members of the Walls family. They do not fint into categories such as good or bad. They just were. Again; great story! I really, genuinely enjoyed it. And I very much recommend it.
