Christmas Presents
by Lisa Unger
This wasn’t your normal holiday read as it’s a suspenseful murder mystery/missing persons story that just so happens to take place around Christmastime. While it was nothing groundbreaking, I’d rather read this than a cheesy holiday romance novel.
My biggest issue was that the why was never really explained. I feel like the podcast portion of the storyline could’ve been better used to provide some additional background/explanation. I also solved the mystery about halfway through, which is a detractor for me.
The book is short (which may be why there wasn’t as much explanation as I’d typically expect) and a very quick read, so if you’re looking for a “holiday” read without the romance, I’d recommend this.
