The Claw of the Conciliator by Gene Wolfe

5.0

Heady. Brilliantly penned. Suggestive. And in desperate need of a reread, The Claw of the Conciliator serves to elevate the deeds of Severian, our mysterious narrator to higher highs and increasingly epic challenges. His deeds, not all good, and his ommisions, while questionable, help give life to a dangerous and thrilling story of a world so very distant from our own. Wolfe is firing on all cylinders here.
