The Book of Azrael
by Amber V. Nicole
i want dianna and liam/samkiel to be run over by a car, back again, and thrown into fire.
for someone who's hundreds of years old or whatever, dianna has the emotional maturity of a total bratty child. and do not get me started on liam like be fucking for real. the moment he made his appearance on the book i had to book on pause bc i alr knew i didn't like him lmao. not only was he a total ass but he was as bland as dry wheat bread. the author made so much effort to have dianna as so badass and strong and mouthy but with liam it's like that's all disappeared and suddenly she has the capacity of a 14 year old on her period. trying to stick to the book for the plot itself was so awful and nearly impossible with how annoying they were like i would've liked to actually see the book through but you'd have to hit me on the head with a brick lowkey.
ntm what is it with the whole mention of sex and lovers like it appears every 2 pages WE GET IT!!! u had a spicy life gasp gasp so unbelievable! the whole transition from them wanting to murder each other and all very enemy-like to them being all over each other was too awkward… and especially how dianna kept initially claiming that she barely had any compassion or morality and all, then suddenly she's all therapist and googly eyes with liam and basically throwing herself at him for someone who 'hated' him. their whole romance was not even really a romance imo plz it felt so rushed and weird and they were both just so off putting to me in general.
would've rated this lower based on the characters solely, but the plot had smth going!! honestly would've ate this up if u put literally ANY other character in the stead of dianna and liam. or honestly the plot alone without any romance would've had me. but these two need time out i fear
