Fix Her Up

Though this book was fun at times and overall really easy to read and breeze through, I had to give it 2 stars because of all the cringe. All the cringe. First off: our FMC is a clown. You read that right, a clown. As in a professional, this is her job, she gets paid for this, clown. As in the curly red wig, the make up, the red nose. No. Just no.
Then there was the Just Us League, which I believe, serves as a vehicle for the small town vibe. It just didn’t work. Primarily because all the members of the League remain nameless and faceless. Therefore, you feel no connection to this league whatsoever, even though it serves a mainly comedic purpose to this book. Thus, it lacks said comedy and overall just doesn’t work.
Adding insult to injury, I know Tessa Bailey is said to be the “Michelangelo of dirty talk” but quite honestly, the dirty talk in this book was also cringe. I literally read some of these scenes with my face like this:
