Britta & The Beach Boy by Brittany Larsen is the first book in her new Love in LA series. It can be read as a standalone. It is also a spinoff of her Love in Paradise Valley Series where you meet Britta and her family. This book is told from a dual pov, following Britta and Liam "Dex" Dexter. Dex and Britta hit it off after and encounter when Dex visits Paradise Valley. Months later, Britta and her cousin head to LA for a change of scenery after the death of Britta's mother. In LA, she learns there's so much more to Dex and his professional surfing career. Dex realizes he can potentially make his Olympic dreams come true as an American citizen, but as an Aussie, he realizes it's not so easy unless he marries an American. Britta needs money to buy an LA Coffee Shop to live out her dreams. It's like a match made perfect as long as feelings don't get in the way. This book was perfection. I loved everything about it. The chemistry between Britta and Dex was perfection. I can not wait for more from Brittany!

“If that’s what I get for winning the first heat, what’s in store if I win the title?” I tighten my grip around her waist, wanting to keep her close. “I guess you’ll have to win it to find out.”

With the taste of Britta’s lips still on mine, I feel the same disconcerting sensation of being pummeled by a wave. There’s no up or down. Nothing else exists outside the pounding in my chest and my lungs grasping for air. But wiping out has never felt this good.

If you’d told me a year ago, I’d fall stupid in love within a matter of minutes, I would have laughed hysterically. Falling in love is not on my to-do list. Or my bullet list. Definitely not on my shopping list. But here I am, picking up a value-size, heart-shaped pack of love.

That will give me something to look forward to while I’m away. Because, the thing I’ve figured out this week is that pretending I’m not in love with Britta is as much a distraction as being in love with her, but not even half the fun. In fact, it sucks.

I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
