finished it in literally a plan ride/delay and could not put it down. GOD I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MCUH I REFUSE TO LET IT END!!!!!!!!!!!!
although they are not my FAVE couple, i love them together and separately so much. i am prefacing with that because i require witty banter and sarcasm and intelligence that matches my own, but there relationship was just a bit hard for me to relate too (THEY ARE AMAZING AND LOVE THEM SO DO NOT YELL).
seeing their growth over the whole series was f**king satisfying as hell. the two people who are always there for others to be strong learned that even they need that too. getting to see more of the inner working of the calloway sisters from rose's pov was exquisite especially since she is just so smart and observant and cares about them so much. also, seeing the inner workings of connor's mind always makes me happy BUT his friendship with ryke in file the fire for sure takes the cake.
they deserve the world. jane is gonna be the new einstein and i am so excited for them to continue building their empire (like us as f**k). connor's gifts to everyone was also the cutest thing. to receive a favorite book of mine with annotations specifically marked for me??? idc who you are let's get married (pg 174 "nothing is truer). AND ROSE'S TRANSLATIONS MAKE ME SO HAPPY. oh the joy of having someone who can decipher words and emotions sp accurately even though it is not communicated (pg 177). i want to be tragically in love!!!! grrr!!!!!
however, i wish we got to see more of rose's character development. connor's development and arc was FABULOUS!!!! it made me so emotional when frederick told rose how awesome it is to see how far he has come, but i feel like we never got a moment like that for rose. also, i love that connor stayed true to himself the whole time cause that is so on brand and his speech made me tear up. although i cannot relate to that specific challenge, reading it was very powerful.
anyways, sobbed in front of people on my flight. oh well. here are some of my fav pages/moments:
