The People in the Trees by Hanya Yanagihara

4.0

I think Yanagihara is one of the most confident writers I’ve read. Between this and A Little Life, her stories are ones that are dependent on the reader’s impressions of characters based on how they’ve read characters in other stories prior. There’s this strange and somewhat mystical, encompassing feeling that every character I’ve read in books apart from Yanagihara’s were just ones preparing me for the array of thoughts I’ll grow to have on her’s.
