The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan

3.0

I think I’m gonna land on a 3. The beginning and end are the reason for the 3. I’m not satisfied with this ending. I would have rather had the sad ending I thought was happening as opposed to the way this book really ended.

I will say the commentary is spot on and opens up multiple conversations on motherhood and the judgement that mothers specifically receive for every decision and mistake they make while raising children. I was so angry over and over while reading this, and I think that’s the point.

If the ending was different, this would have been a 4.
